What do you sell?

We sell potatoes that you won’t normally see in the shops. They are grown for taste and useability, they have a high dry matter and low sugars so they fry very well but also make brilliant mash, roasties, boilers and bakers. We also sell crisp flavouring for adding to home made crisps nationwide, and in the Edinburgh area we will shortly be selling winter veg.

How should I store and how long will they last?

Our potatoes are unwashed so they will last in the region of 6 to 8
weeks. Store in a cool dark dry area and keep away from frost is storing
in a garage. They shouldn’t sprout but if they do, just pick the
sprouts off – they are still perfectly useable. They are packed in paper bags or cardbord boxes which are perfect for storage.

Do you have traceability?

Yes. We can trace your order to the field, planting dates, fertiliser rates and harvesting and storage areas. We generally sell from the same field so you can be sure of the same potato quality time after time. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

What are your environmental policies?

The farm uses tractors and harvesting machines for crop husbandry but when the crop arrives on the farm from the fields it is kept in climate controlled sheds, graded, packed and stored all using 100% solar energy. The potatoes are packed in paper bags with cotton thread and 100& recycled cardboard boxes for courier transport.

When is my order sent out?

Parcelforce uplift orders by truck every Monday, Wednesday & Friday from the farm. It goes to their depot and is usually loaded onto their system by early evening

How is my order packed?

All orders are packed in cardboard boxes because of courier requirements. 25kg orders are firstly bagged in paper bags them placed in the box. 12.5kg orders are loose in the cardboard box. Potatoes can handle a bit of rough handling so there isn’t an issue.

How can I track my order?

As long as you have given us an email or a phone number, Parcelforce will email you and text you so you can track your order.

How long does it take to get my order?

All EH,FK,KY, and TD postcodes are on a 24hr delivery service *

All other UK postcodes *(including KY8, KY9 & some FK8 areas) are on a 48hr delivery service. Please note that if your order goes out on a Friday it will be Monday or Tuesday before you receive your order on the 48hr dispatch

How much is postage?

We have a flat rate charge of £2 for postage anywhere in the UK. It costs us considerably more to send every package and we absorb a lot of the actual postage cost ourselves.

Do you supply foodbanks?

Yes, we have 15 foodbanks that we supply on a regular basis, your purchases from us help us to donate regularly

Do you supply the catering trade?

Yes we supply hotels, restaurants & cafes. Please contact us here if interested at andy@potato-guys.com  We don’t supply chip shops.
